This full-day excursion takes you to the spectacular Zapata Peninsula which is the largest wetlands of the Caribbean.

The program of the day includes: pickup at your hotel for a 2-hour bus ride from Varadero to the Zapata Peninsula through the beautiful countryside of the Matanzas province, a speedboat ride along the Hatiguanico river, an ecological walking trail to the springs at the source of the river, then the boat ride continues along the river down to Placer de las Lisas where the river can be seen in its full magnitude.

Lunch at a typical local restaurant in the Fiesta Campesina Farm (a interpretative farm where you can observe a broad variety of native animals and plants of the region), next a visit of a crocodile breeding farm (considered to be one of the largest in America), a boat ride across Treasure Lake to get to the Guama Tourist Center which is home to a replica of a Taino Indian village where you will learn about the life of the indigenous people when Christopher Columbus discovered the island in 1492, leisure time at the Punta Pedriz Center to enjoy some swimming or snorkeling, and then back to Varadero.

Inclusions: Tour guide, transportation in air-conditioned bus, lunch, snorkeling equipment and beach chairs at Punta Pedriz.
