This full-day excursion spotlights two different aspects of Cuba, its countryside and history.  This journey will take you to through the beautiful countryside of the Matanzas province down south to the Zapata Peninsula and Bay of pigs. You will visit the Guama Tourist Center on Treasure Lake which is home to a full-scale replica of a Taino Indian village and learn about the life of the indigenous people when Christopher Columbus discovered the island in 1492.

You will also visit a nearby crocodile breeding farm where you will get the chance to learn more about those reptiles and get close and personal with them. After lunch you will continue towards the Bay of Pigs (Bahia de Cochinos) to Playa Giron, a historical landmark where you'll see Castro's headquarters during the US invasion in 1961, and go onboard an old steam train for a ride through sugar cane fields.
